Dirac Notation
Intuitive
Explanations in this section should contain no formulas, but instead colloquial things like you would hear them during a coffee break or at a cocktail party.
Concrete
- A particularly nice introduction can be found in Chapter 1 in "Principles of Quantum Mechanics" by Shankar, where he reformulates linear algebra using the Dirac notation. This way the sometimes quite abstract notation can be easily understood using familiar notions from linear algebra.
Abstract
The motto in this section is: the higher the level of abstraction, the better.
Why is it interesting?
The Dirac notation is a convenient way to describe the basic quantities in quantum mechanics.
