====== Technicolor ====== Technicolor is the idea that the [[advanced_notions:symmetry_breaking:higgs_mechanism|Higgs boson]] of the [[models:standard_model|Standard Model]] is not a [[advanced_notions:elementary_particles|fundamental particle]] but a composite state of two fermions. These fermions are held together by a new force called Technicolor. The name stems from the idea that this technicolor is similar to the color charge of [[models:standard_model:qcd|quantum chromodynamics]]. Technicolor is a proposed solution for the [[open_problems:hierarchy_puzzle|hierarchy problem]] of the standard model of particle physics.
